Is the Yankton, SD Hy-Vee Store Violating the EEOC?

It has come to my attention that the Yankton, Hy-Vee store is cutting hours of employees across the board. However, even though they are cutting the hours of their cashiers, they continue to hire YOUNGER cashiers, teenagers, putting them in their "program."

I have heard that Hy-Vee likes the younger workers for various reasons, including the fact that they can work faster than the older employees.

Is Hy-Vee in Yankton, South Dakota, violating the EEOC rules, in particular the ADEA (Age Discrimination in Employment Act (1967)? Are they cutting hours of employees and hiring younger ones to fill their ranks, yet not laying off the older employees so they don't have to pay unemployment on the let go employees? Are they cutting the employees' hours so low that they are forced to find other jobs or until they just quit?
